Golden Retriever Went For A Walk Only To Find A Sweet Surprise In The Forest

We’ve all heard the expression that a dog is a man’s best friend, and that remains true in almost every case. We’re so used to their unwavering ability to make our days just a little bit better every time.

However, just when you think dogs can’t be better than they are, they end up doing something that surprises you even more.

In this story, we will talk about one such example where an emotional dog surprised everyone with his kindness and empathy.

What Did He Find

It was just an ordinary day when Jenna Laigle was taking a walk with her Golden Retriever, Otis, in Torrington, Connecticut.

The woman and her dog took a little time to rest up. After a while, the dog got distracted by something, so he went to have a look.

He returned to Jenna, and she noticed his anxiety, so she followed him to the place where Otis found something.

It was six newborn bunny rabbits that were just lying there on the field without their mother. Otis immediately took care of their safety and shielded them from any harm that might come to them.

He carefully placed them between his paws and licked them until they calmed a bit. Jenna, on the other hand, spent time looking for their mother’s nest.

Mission Accomplished

After a while of searching for the nest, she finally found it, so she hurried back to Otis who was still looking out for the babies.

The duo then carefully took the bunnies and brought them back to their mother’s nest and placed them there.

Otis seemed really happy knowing that he helped keep the bunnies safe and comforted the whole time they were with him.

Jenna said that he was always an especially emotional and kind dog, and just loved to help out anyone who needed it.

If this story can show us anything, it’s how a dog’s empathy does not always just extend to humans, but to all animals who need help.

As the writer, Thom Jones, once said: Dogs have a way of finding the people who need them, filling an emptiness we don’t even know we have.
