I’m pretty sure that every doggo parent knows that even thinking about losing your furry baby is utterly heartbreaking.
The bond between a dog and its human is one of the strongest things ever. That is why when that irreplaceable bond is broken, the pain that the hooman feels is beyond words.
When a puppy goes missing, their hooman does everything they can to try and get them back – from posting pictures all over social media to plastering the town with fliers.
But have you ever wondered what happens to all those fliers when the pup finally returns home?
Missing Dog
When Perla Vanessa was going about her business one Sunday afternoon, she realized that something was missing. It didn’t take her too long to figure out that her pup, Leia, was nowhere to be seen.
“In the ten years that I have had her, this has never happened before but it only takes that one time to scar you,” said Vanessa in a TikTok video.
She then explained that when Leia got out, she wasn’t wearing the collar with the Airtag in so there was no way for anybody to know who the owner of this sweet pup was.
Vanessa knew that the best way to find her pup was to put up posters of her beloved pup all over her neighborhood, hoping that somebody would recognize Leia and call her.
“By Sunday afternoon, Sunday night, I was balling my eyes out. I was running up and down the block hysterically, putting up posters going from neighbor to neighbor, asking if they had seen her,” Vanessa added.
What shocked her the most was that everybody did, in fact, see her. Vanessa’s neighbors told her that Leia was hanging out in their yards and having cute little playdates with them.
“She is microchipped but that doesn’t mean that they are going to take her to the shelter anyways. So, Monday afternoon I was hysterical, I was balling my eyes out. I literally got my family worried,” she stated.
Luckily, because of all the posters Vanessa put up, one of the neighbors who had Leia saw them and contacted her.
They explained to her that they had Leia since Sunday night, but they didn’t know who to call, so as they were getting ready to take her to the shelter, they noticed the posters.
Safe And Sound
Now that Leia was finally back in Vanessa’s loving embrace, it was time for her to take down all of her missing posters.
And who better to keep her company than Leia!
Leia happily accompanied her hooman, looking totally unbothered and unaware of the trouble she put Vanessa through.
But I’m sure Vanessa won’t be mad at her at all because what matters is that she is back home.“Now she is back home and she is never leaving my side ever again,” Vanessa concluded.
