Deaf Pup Left At Shelter By Her Owner Now Has A New Home And The Best Dog Brother

Paloma, an adorable deaf pup, never imagined that her mom would give her up. They loved each other.

Unfortunately, Paloma’s mom started dating a man who treated the pup poorly and she decided to surrender her pup to a rescue.

Bullies and Buddies Rescue, in Redondo Beach, California, took Paloma under their care.

Deprived of a loving home and a sense of security, Paloma began her life at the rescue, hoping that she would find loving humans who would never give up on her.

Since she was deaf, she was sadly overlooked by potential adopters.

Time went by, and Paloma kept waiting for someone to notice her and consider her worthy of being loved.

The rescue found her a wonderful foster mom who gave her a lot of affection and care.

Paloma became hopeful about her future.

The dog’s rescue friends often shared Paloma’s photos on social media, hoping to increase her chances of finding a home.

At the time, a woman named Missy was looking for a doggy friend for Rocky Road, her sweet pup who felt lonely.

Missy often saw Paloma’s photos on Instagram, and she fell in love with her. Although she never owned a differently-abled canine, she decided to foster her.

Shortly after moving in with her foster family, Paloma quickly bonded with them.

Missy and her family became enchanted by her, and they realized that the wonderful doggo belonged with them.

From the moment Rocky met Paloma, he felt connected to her. The delightful doggo sensed that his new doggy sister needed help and he instantly became her protector and her guide.

Missy and her family use some signs with Paloma, but the beautiful pup relies on her brother.

“We use a few signs but I will tell you, she looks to Rocky. He is more the person that gives her the sign. It’s clear that he knows she needs a little more help. Everything we do, he tries to help her,” Missy told GeoBeats Animals.

When their mom gives them treats, Rocky gives a little nudge to Paloma in order to let her know that it’s treat time.

He and Paloma love spending time together and snuggling next to each other.

Rocky found a loving companion in Paloma, and he didn’t feel lonely anymore. On the other hand, Paloma felt understood and safe, thanks to her big brother.

The two siblings became soulmates.

Both Rocky and Paloma like hanging out with the other dogs, but when Rocky meets new dogs, he becomes very protective of his sister.

“… There have been a few times where there have been dogs we didn’t know. He gets in the stance to protect her. She would probably like to go play, but he doesn’t know the dog so he’s very much protective of her,” Missy added.

When Rocky was adopted, the sweet dog faced discrimination from his new family’s neighbors. Missy even got a note in her mailbox from one of them saying that they didn’t want to have a Pit Bull in their neighborhood.

With his adorable personality, Rocky changed their mind, and he won them over.

Missy adores both her pups and she considers Paloma to be her princess. The sweet pup has a lot of love to give to her humans and her older furry brother.

Missy hopes that more people will realize that differently-abled dogs can be loving furry companions and that they can lead fulfilling lives.

“To be a deaf dog has made me realize that it’s no big deal. All these differently abled dogs out there, there’s deaf, there’s blind, there’s so many and they can have a full loving, wonderful home,” Missy stated.

Rocky and Paloma live their best lives in California. They couldn’t be happier because they have the perfect family.
